How often do you make your own Sicilian pizza in Italy?
The staff of the tour company especially Claudio made this an amazing experience. Enjoyed doing something a little different. We were picked up from the ship and transported to a mountain town while explaining the history of Sicily as we drive through it. Claudio our guide walked with us through town giving us tips on where to go after our pizzas on our free time and was very interesting and funny. He made pizza with us and was there to help with any translations needed. Just a great trip!
pizza making fun
The way we were all shown how to make a proper pizza indervidually and to eat the results at the end
with a glass of wine or water ! A fun experience, which I will recommend.
Great tour of Taormina and pizza making for lunch
We were picked up from our cruise ship by our 2 wonderful guides. Really friendly and knowledgable. First took us to Castelmola. This is a small village about 200m higher than Taormina. Fantastic views of the bay and Mount Etna. We then had a pizza making class in Taormina. We loved it. Basically you make your own lunch!! So much fun for adults and kids. The guides and chefs were fantastic. Just don’t ask for pineapple on your pizza. Wine and soft drinks were included.
We then had a coule of hours to see Taormina. Loads of restaaraunts bars and shops. We would def. go back here. Booking direct was a LOT cheaper than the cruise ship excursions.
Amazing pizza and a great time!
We loved our tour including the drive from cruise port in a nice air conditioned van, time to explore Taormina and even get gelato. But we really loved our tour guide Tonia who was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and personable. Our pasta and master pizza teacher Giovanni was patient and shared his love of pizza and taught us how to make pizza the Sicilian way. This tour was a huge highlight for our whole family from grandparents to teenage children. Please take advantage of this opportunity to experience the incredible food, charming town of Taormina, and wonderful people that make it happen. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
Really fun class!
We had a great time making pizza and pasta at Porta Messina restaurant in Taormina. The class was fun and the cooks let you go wild with your pizza putting as many toppings on as you want! The restaurant treats you like royalty, setting you up at a prime table with wine and antipasti included. Come hungry, by the end of the class, we didn’t know if we could ever eat again! We had a bit of time to shop and explore the town afterwards. Taormina is a really cute old town with tons to see. We didn’t really have much of a walking tour, try to leave time to explore on your own. Wish we had more time to see the Ancient Greek theatre but we had to get back to our ship. Maybe next time. Oh, and they let you keep the aprons!
