Our Messina cooking class is your opportunity to taste Sicilian cookery, while learning three of the most typical recipes during an exclusive class held by a professional cook.
Sicily is famous all over the world because of its authentic dishes, which are made of a combination of different cultures that dominated the island for centuries. Once in Messina, you won’t miss a visit to the historical city center including the highlights of the Cathedral and the Bell Tower with its complex astronomical clock, giving a captivating show once a day at noon in Piazza Duomo.
If you are food lovers, this Messina cooking class offers the possibility to prepare local dishes on your own, accompanied by a professional chef sharing her secrets, and then to enjoy such delicacies.
The restaurant, located a few steps away from the Cathedral of Messina, is the elegant frame of the cooking experience, embellished with fine paintings made by a local artist.
Wear your apron and be ready to learn how to cook braciole (meat rolls fulfilled with breadcrumbs), Sicilian caponata (mix of fried vegetables) and maccheroni (home made pasta) during our Messina cooking class: you will live an experience you (and your palate) won’t easily forget!
Messina Cooking class: meet your cooking teacher and have fun prepring your lunch with her. She will teach you all the secrets to cook the perfect Sicilian caponata, maccheroni and braciole, meet rolls stuffed with seasoned breadcrumb. You will be intoxicated by the perfumes.

The cathedral of Messina is famous for the impressive bell tower, hosting several brozed statued that everyday at noon move, symbolizing the civil and religious tradition of the city. When in Messina, this is the must-see, and you won’t miss it during our Messina cooking class
The Messina cooking class can be lead in English and French
Tell us in advance if you have any food allergies, intolerances, or special needs: alternatives are available.
This experience doesn’t involve the use of transportation. The restaurant and the bell tower are within a walking distance from the cruise port.
At Messina cruise port or your accommodation in Messina, you will meet our professional tour guide who will lead you on a short walk to reach the restaurant.
Once at the restaurant, you will meet the chef Loredana and after an introduction to the activity, you will finally start your Messina cooking class experience lasting two hours. You will learn all the details and the secrets of the typical Messina and Sicily cookery traditions. You will have the opportunity to ask all your questions to Loredana.
At the end of the Messina cooking class, you will be able to remake the same recipes once back home. You may even organize a dinner for your family and friends to show off your new cooking ability!
Shortly before noon, after having prepared your meal, you will take a break from your Messina cooking class, and while Loredana cooks at the restaurant, your tour guide will lead you to Cathedral Square to enjoy the bell tower show with mechanisms of the golden bronze statues accompanied by Schubert's Ave Maria music.
After the end of the bell tower show, take your time to have a look inside the Cathedral, you won't be disappointed by the wonderful art works, the mosaics, and the ceiling!
After the visit you will go back to the restaurant where the lunch you prepared is waiting for you. It's finally time to taste!
After lunch, your tour guide will walk you back to the cruise terminal or hotel or you can decide to spend some free time in the city center of Messina and return to the port or hotel at your own pace.
