Our Messina pizza making experience is a perfect way to learn how to make pizza, just a few steps away from the cruise port. Meet your tour leader at the cruise port and on foot reach a typical Sicilian restaurant, located right in the city center.
After meeting the professional chef, you will start the pizza-making class together: you will learn the secrets of a professional cook, and you will be able to ask your questions. After preparing your pizza, it’s time for a break! You can’t come to Messina and not admire the mechanical clock of the bell tower in action at noon! This is the most important attraction in the city center, located in the Cathedral Square of Messina. We will walk to the Square right on time to attend the “show”. At the end of the show, it will finally be time for lunch! Back at the restaurant, we will have our tasty pizza ready for lunch.
The Messina pizza making experience will be completed by another Sicilian “must”: the Sicilian cannolo. Just crossing the street, we will step into a small local bakery, where you can taste a Cannolo alla ricotta (the traditional one with sweet ricotta), or Cannolo al cioccolato, with chocolate, if you don’t like ricotta.
Nearby the bakery, an ancient architectural gem is ready for you to visit: the Catalans Church. This church survived the earthquake of 1908, and it stands at the old city level.
Leisurely return to the ship or enjoy some more time in the city center before heading back on foot to the ship.
