Taormina and Savoca tour is one of the most exciting Sicily day tours from Messina (port or city centre) in particular for the lovers of the Godfather.
From the departing point we will reach the ancient town of Savoca Sicily, a wonderful medieval village, named one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
You will start a little Savoca tour, following the footsteps of the Godfather movie by F.F. Coppola, to whom a statue is dedicated in the panoramic square of the village. This square is very popular also for hosting the famous bar Vitelli. Our guides will explain to you its history and its festivals.
Then we will leave for Taormina, known as the “Pearl of the Mediterranean”. You will have a stroll in its ancient Corso Umberto, that has been recentely one of the White Lotus Sicily locations for season 2.

So Worth Seeing Beautiful Savoca – Not Cheesy at All
Our tour with Sabrina was amazing! To see the town of Savoca where the Godfather was filmed I thought would be cheesy and touristy but it absolutely wasn’t. This is a picturesque and rustic town. You will see an untouched version of all the classic Sicilian scenes from the movie in a pristine setting. The switchback roads to get to this village on top of a cliff will blow you away. The bus literally had to do constant 180 degree turns. Taormina was stunning as well and had plenty of time for shopping and lunch. Sabrina told us where to get the best cannoli we ever had. We even did a short tour of Messina. Driver was superb as was Sabrina. She even gave us some moist almond cookies. I regret not asking her where to buy to them to bring back home. Thank you for making our trip memorable! Ciao Bella!
Pick up was easy, the guide was knowledgeable, and we had plenty of time in both stops. Seeing the
spots where the Godfather was filmed was amazing and the town of Taormina was beautiful
We are USA citizens whi have been traveling in Europe for two weeks. This tour was my favorite day of the trip so far! Sicily was so incredibly beautiful and our guide, Sabrina, was exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Could not have been a better day! Food, scenery, shopping, all so wonderful!!
My family and I recently took this tour and I can highly recommend it, especially if Katia is your guide and Giacomo is your driver. They were two of the nicest people and Katia’s knowledge of the area was incredible, which made the day even more special. We were on a cruise so our time in the area was limited so Katia and Giacomo made sure we got as much out of the limited time we had and got us back to the ship with plenty of time to spare. So if you have any concerns about this tour if you’re on a cruise don’t hesitate to book it because they’ll take great care of you.
Great Mountain Town
My husband is a HUGE fan of the Godfather movies so naturally when we were in Sicily we had to take the Godfather tour. I’m so glad we did because the town was really a site to see. It sits upon this mountain and there’s just the one road that leads to the church and the cafe’s espresso was on point. Taorimna was a nice town to walk around shop and eat some food.
