This Taormina excursion & Castelmola Sicily is one of our day trips from Messina port. The tour starts with the visit to Castelmola Sicily, a picturesque village just above Taormina. Here you can enjoy a beautiful landscape, with a wonderful terrace overlooking Mount Etna, the highest volcano in Europe, and the magnificent bay of Giardini Naxos, the first Greek colony in Sicily.
After a stroll in the medieval village of Castelmola Sicily, we will get to the beautiful Taormina. Herewith a Taormina excursion we will go along Corso Umberto, the ancient Roman Street Valeria. You can enjoy typical things to do in Taormina: a visit through the historic centre with a tour guide or on your own, a visit to the Greek-roman theatre (the ancient theatre of Taormina, optional), the old churches and monuments, the most exclusive shops, the pastries and ice cream shops to taste local products and treats.
This Taormina excursion also includes lunch in one of the typical restaurants, to try the specialities of Sicilian cooking. You will be enchanted by Taormina, the charming Pearl of the Mediterranean, which is always able to seduce even the most distracted visitor.
This Taormina excursion & Castelmola Sicily starts from Messina Cruise Port or from Travel Agency Discover Messina Sicily, located in the city center. On request, a departure from your accommodation located in Messina area.
We are going to have a panoramic tour of the city. We will see the famous statue of the Virgin
Mary of the Letter, the Fountain of Neptune, the St. Francis Church and the Palace of Culture.
Castelmola Sicily is the first destination of this Sicily day tour. We will spend about 1 hour visiting this medieval village where you will enjoy Piazza Sant’Antonio, the Cathedral, and the Castle, then our tour guide will let you taste the traditional almond wine in a local cafè.
During a guided Taormina excursion in the main street Corso Umberto, you will visit Porta Catania and Porta Messina, the Cathedral of Taormina, April IX Square and the clock tower, Corvaja Palace. At the end of the walking tour our tour guide will lead you to the local restaurant in the historical center to enjoy your typical and delicious Sicilian meal to complete your Taormina excursion!
The Taormina excursion & Castelmola Sicily will end to the starting point. We share a goodbye, hoping to meet our guests back in Sicily soon.

this tour was absolutely fabulous. We thought the appetizer was the main course, and it surprised us with a tasty main course and the ice cream for desert.
