Taormina walking tour with Greek Theater is one of the most requested Sicily day tours among our Messina shore excursions and tours from Messina port. It will let you experience the history of one of the Sicilian Greek colonies and its astonishing ancient Theatre.
The day tour starts with a visit to Castelmola Sicily, a picturesque village situated just above Taormina. This tiny town is the perfect place to enjoy a beautiful setting and a wonderful outlook over the magnificent bay of Giardini Naxos and Mount Etna rising in the distance. Then our journey continues with a Taormina walking tour, seeing the Aragonese style Porta Catania before a guided tour along the Corso Umberto, once part of the ancient Roman street Via Valeria. Stroll along this pretty, traffic-free street and enjoy a Taormina walking tour to the oldest churches and monuments of the town, as well as the most exclusive shops and restaurants. Taste some typical Sicilian specialties and sweets at pastry and ice cream shops. The Taormina walking tour will end with the highlight: the ancient theatre of Taormina, the second-largest in Sicily, built by Greeks and Romans in the 3rd century BC, the seat of many cultural events every year, and location of the G7 Summit in May 2017

We stopped in Messina as one of our cruise ship stops. We booked the taromina and castaloma tour as we had heard taromina was lovely. The tour guides were easy to find right off of the ship and our tour guide Katia was great. She gave us italian cookies and water, provided great information, and was extremely helpful. We asked how to get to certain areas and she even offered to take us there. She was very friendly and the best tour guide we had all trip!
She also informed us that this tour company was run by young women which I really enjoyed and was glad I supported this company. The tour was great and we really enjoyed our day. There wasn’t too much to see in castelmola but it was a cool spot ontop of a mountain, as someone who is scared of heights it was a bit of a challenge for me but I enjoyed all of it none the less.
I would highly recommend.
Terrific day!
We thought our guide & driver did an excellent job! The views were fabulous & our guide was knowledgeable & fun. They picked us up at the port from our ship & took a small group on a terrific tour! We’re so glad we did this tour! Taormina was my husbands favorite!
Beautiful Views
We really enjoyed this tour! We got to see both cities and the Ancient Theater of Taormina. The views were wonderful and we even got to see Mt. Etna. When we were on the bus, the tour guide Mariarita gave everyone a delicious pistachio cookie from a local bakery. We liked them so much that we purchased some to take home when we got back to port. At Castelmola, we got to taste some complementary almond wine and we purchased delicious cannoli and gelato.
Excellent. Friendly, Professional, Helpful. Informative.
This was a day tour from the Cruise Terminal. Deborah, friendly, with a sense of humour, great knowledge was the ideal guide. Thanks for that. It is an enjoyable trip, scenic, not overburdened with too much to see and you could get a flavour of the people and way of life. Some small interesting churches plus the ancient Greek theatre
Buses were new, very comfortable, bonus was an awesome driver.
Sound system should be tweaked and logistics of departure from port looked at.
Would use this company again and especially the guides we had.
Girls trip
Wonder day. Tour guide Chiara was excellent. She was very informative, friendly, and answered all of our questions. We had two walking tours and time in each place to wat and shop. We ate everything Chiara suggested. Loves the pizza Norma and the rice bowl with meat.
